Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all transactions at Retro Game Base. Placing an order indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully and print a copy for future reference.

The Goods

We endeavor to give as much technical information as is reasonable about the products we sell. All images, descriptive matter, specifications and advertising on our site are for the sole purpose of giving an approximate description of the goods. We always try to make sure that the information given on our site is as up to date as possible but we cannot guarantee that this will always be the case. If you require more information on an item it is always advisable for you to contact us BEFORE purchase.

Payment and Price

The total price payable for the goods and delivery will be as shown at the time when you place your order. We are entitled to make adjustments to the price if due to an error or omission the price published for the goods is wrong whether or not the order has been confirmed. Errors like these are very unusual, and we will always inform you of the correct price and give you the opportunity to cancel the order.

Payment Methods

All online payments are processed by Paypal and they accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, MasterCard and Switch. Incorrect information will cause a delay in processing your order. Your order will only be processed once authorisation of your card payment has been properly received.

Availability of Goods

All products and services are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. If we do not supply the goods for any reason we will not charge you for them, and we will refund any money already paid.
However, we will not be responsible for compensating you for any other losses you may suffer if we do not supply the goods. If an item is known to us as out of stock then it will clearly state this on our website. Out of stock items can still be purchased and paid for but the customer understands that they will be kept up to date on the availability of their order and it will only be shipped to them when available. The order can be cancelled at any time by contacting us where we will issue a full refund.

Delivery Charges

FREE delivery for orders of £50 or more to all mainland UK addresses. If your basket value is less than £50 or you live outside of the UK then delivery charges which will be added to the total when completing the checkout process.

All prices on our website are exclusive of delivery charges which will be added to the price of the products when completing the checkout process.

Delivery Times

We post our items every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. In general, parcels go out within one day of receiving cleared payment. Any orders which arrive after Midday on Friday or over a weekend will go out on the following Monday.

Delivery Responsibilities

Once we have delivered the goods to your door you are responsible for them. We will only deliver goods to the address on the order and parcels that are choosen to be sent via recorded delivery will require a signature. It is very unusual for our parcels to be damaged in transit, or the incorrect good supplied, but if such situations occur, we always refund or replace. On occasion we may require a photo of damage caused in the mail system, so we claim for the damage through postal insurance. If an item has not arrived or is damaged in transit it is the buyer's responsibility to inform us within 14 days of the purchase date for us to be able to look into and if necessary refund the purchase price. If the items are not shipped via the 'Signed-for' option then the maximum refund amount will be £15 but only if we are informed of any problems with the delivery within the 14 days stated above.

BUY ONLINE & COLLECT IN-STORE

If you chose to use our collect in-store service then you have 14 days to collect your item during our shop opening hours. If the item is not collected within 14 days the item will be refunded minus a 20% re-stocking fee. For example; you buy an item online for a total of £100, you do not collect within 14 days so you are automatically refunded £80 and the item is then re-sold by us. When you come to collect your item you need to bring proof of your purchase. This is to be a copy of our automated checkout confirmation email you received after your purchase.

Product Guarantees

We guarantee all games, handhelds and consoles to be fully working on arrival (unless listed as non-functioning). We fully test all the hardware we sell, so problems with consoles and computers we sell are very rare, but we do guarantee them for one month after receipt. This guarantee specifically excludes faults caused by accident, neglect, and misuse. In addition routine maintenance is not covered. This does not affect any statutory rights that you may have.

Returned Goods

If you are not totally satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you have the right to cancel your order within 7 working days from date of delivery for full credit or refund less any applicable delivery charges. It is your responsibility to return any such items in a pristine saleable condition in their original box and packaging. You will be wholly responsible for the return of the goods and any associated costs of return. Goods received back incomplete, damaged or in any condition other than saleable, will be returned to you and the cost of return carriage charged to your account. Prior to returning any products, please contact us within 7 days from the date of delivery. If you do not return goods within 7 days after you have informed us that you wish to cancel your order, your right to cancel will be withdrawn.

General

The terms and conditions shown above do not affect your statutory rights. We will treat each order for goods as an offer by you to purchase the goods subject to the terms and conditions as detailed above.

PLEASE NOTE: In many countries it is legal to install and use an electronic upgrade in your personal game console. However the copying of games is illegal in many (if not all) countries. Some countries laws do not allow you to use backups, even if you own the original, It is the responsibility of the customer to check your own country's laws, and respect them. If you have the right to make backups, this means that you have bought the original license to use this game. RetroGameBase.co.uk, nor any other associated companies condone the illegal copying and/or distribution of computer software for game consoles or any other format. You must act accordingly to the laws of your country! Respect the laws, Respect the gaming industry, and use our products accordingly in its original state.

The intended purpose of our Electronic Device Products is to allow you to use your game console to play homebrew software, 3rd party software, imports and backups of software that you legally own or developed by yourself, for preservation, maintenance and servicing purposes which is allowed by the law.
